Another Rainy Day..

Photo Above: At 6.45 pm, it's almost as dark as at 7.45pm on the ordinary day.
It's 8.18 pm now and it's still raining outside for the past few days. The weather is cooler now. And I have been putting on my sweater since morning. I think the weather will remain the same for the whole week. Anyway It was like this since last week. With a hot glass of instant hot coffee 'cap tabek' or 'salute' brand, accompanied by Blake Sheldon's sentimental.. Home, I think that's the right music for a cold rainy day for me to write away with something with my key board. At least better than listening to the sound of rains dropping.
We just came back from dinner at 'cabang empat tok mek goh', with something special for the day, fried eel (belud), fried chili with eels (belud padprit), traditional herbal eel soup and a fried egg. It's almost all eels for the day, after all it's easily available now during the monsoon season. I think that's the best place I ever had in Kelantan, for a hot and very spicy eel food. Mind you, they are very tasty too. Very suitable for a cold raining day. It cost us RM$39.00 for 3 persons including drinks.
The day was OK today except that it rain and rain the whole day. It was so cold that I woke up later than the usual, and I was almost late to work. The traffic at the Sultan Yahya Bridge was so bad, as I have to take almost 45 minutes to cross. No idea what was it causing the jammed, except that everyone was slowing down to watch over the Kelantan river to see the rising water. Probably that was what causing the traffic to slow down. Yes, the water is rising.
At 11.50 am today, the day is like in the evening as it's almost dark. Cars have to turn on their light.
My neighbours who went back to their folks home at Kuala Krai since Thursday couldn't come back as the road along the way has already sunk.
It's a quiet day for business. I spent time with clients chatting and having drinks, and the rest of the day I was stuck in the traffic under the rain listening to soft musics from the 80's played by light fm.
My tour agent called me up regarding my tour programme and gave me a list of things I should remember to bring along.
Reached home slightly earlier today as I need to catch up with the latest news from the TV or radio to find out the outcome on the Mumbai attack, Bangkok crisis and the local flood news. Just hope everything is getting better.
Back home right now, my house has been invaded by tiny baby frogs ! Yes plenty of them trying to get shelter after transforming from tadpoles. My garden was the breeding ground as it was flooded with rain water recently. I think they are following the light, as the yard is almost dark. Quite a lot of them sticking to the walls. Ha..ha. Never seen such invading before. Hopefully the snakes are not after them !!
Before I published out this posting, I think it's better that I share with you the music I am listening right now, on a quiet cold raining day.. Home by Blake Sheldon. Happy listening..

Calm Before The Storm @ Sky Watch

The sea looks calm for awhile after raining for the past few days. And since yesterday it started raining again without stopping. The news reported that the sea is rough and is danger to any other activities especially for the fishermen to go to the sea, as the wave is too high as well and strong winds. As I am writing this, it is very windy outside my house and lots of water from the rain. The weather is very cold right now. I heard the water level at most river is at warning level. Certain neighbouring states such as Pahang and Trengganu are already encountering flood at the rural area. From our previous experience, flood over here is mainly due to strong wind which blow the seawater into the inland river, followed by heavy rain. Also there are times when the reservoir release out the water as they reached danger level in the state or also from the neighbouring country Thailand.
As for the next few days, we wouldn't know what would happen except to stay in touch with the news..

My Green Fingers...

My green fingers thing started 2 months ago. And now during the monsoon season, some of my vege-plant survive the cold season but some didn't make it. I guess I have to start planting again next year after the rainy days is over.

Kampung Kebakat For My World

I am posting something for 'My World Tuesday' today. Something about my home, my village and my world so that I can share it out with my other blog buddies from the different parts of the world. And this so place is call Kebakat, located in the district of Tumpat in the state of Kelantan.

The rains stopped early today. Probably it is so to allow me to take a walk or a mild jog around my home place, about 2 km radius. So with my small compact Sony camera, I took off accompanied by my regular fans / the kids next door who are also my nieces. All in ready with their sports shoes to explore for some interesting pictures and scenery for today's My World.
Kebakat is surrounded by mostly greens and water from the irrigation channel. The residents are mostly farmers and village old folks who does village works and hard labour.
Along the way, if you are approaching the village, you'll see lots and lots of paddy fields.

This is a typical Malay village house of a poorer family. They survive by working as farmers, and the younger generations choose to work in the town as factory workers or at the supermarkets.

This is the nearest mosque, accessible through the main road about 2km from my home. This photo is taken from the back view.

A small bridge which can only allow maximum of 5 tonnes vehicles to cross.

One of my niece suggest me to snap a photo of the spider we found along the water channel.

Still going steady after about 3 km walk, although they are already wet and sweat.

Common scene of fruits easily found at the village. This include durians trees, mangoestein, rambutans, guava, pineapples and etc.

The people of Kebakat are very friendly. I never find myself alone when taking a walk as there are plenty of local kids to follow me around. Most of them are camera shy but somehow I managed to snap a photo of this little boy, accompanying us by cycling.

Another photo of a small stream of water that leads to the channel. There are even small fishes there.

The three little joggers, heading home, tired and sweaty.

A wild flowers. I have no idea at all what it is call. But there are plenty of them around.

Last but not least, a beautiful scenery of village Kebakat.

Change..

Something for a Change before I revert back my posting about rain, flood and watery. When we have hot sun, we wish for rain. When we have rain all day, we wish for Mr Sunny to drop by. The weather now is very cold at night and in the morning. The temperature is about 22 degree Celsius. We are having difficulty to get our clothes dry as it rains almost everyday and I have to dig out all my thicker clothings to wear as I am running out of working shirts. I wonder how people from the other parts of the world cope with winter ? :) And here's my today's flowers - The Orchids again...

While you are here, please do drop by my photo blog at Sri Kebakat or http://srikebakat.blogspot.com

Last weekend, we decide to pamper ourselves by going for a 2d/1n retreat at the Renaissance Hotel. We did nothing except going to the gymnasium, eat and sleep.

Monsoon Has Just Begun..

Usually in the month of November until January, we'll have heavy down pour over here. And of late, it has been raining quite often for the past few days without stopping especially during the night and early morning hours.

Since the last few days, my house has been accumulating a lot of water at the yard, due to poor flow of drainage. Moreover, the irrigation channel has been open for the water to flow in as the water from the river rises.
It has been such, years after years and the weather during the night and morning has been very cold around 22 degree centigrade. So, it's time to put on my long sleeve t-shirt and 'sarong' for sleep again. And it's also time for those locals to start predicting on the flood possibilities again for this year.
It's going to be a watery weekend ahead.. And it's also time for that black hot coffee with 'pisang goreng' or fried bananas and 'putu mayam'.
