I will be gone,
but not for long,
Hoping to drop by again,
So, I told myself I won't be saying goodbye to Beijing. It rained cats and dogs today, but I have to keep on moving to my next destination which is Tianjin. The hotel reception allowed me to check out later than the usual time without any extra charges as I was considered one of the long staying guest. Most of the local guest would stayed for about 2 to 3 days the most. So, as planed I walk along the river passing through the gate of the Forbidden Palace and out through the front gate of Tian'anmen Square. I must visit the late Mao Tze Tung's Memorial, I told myself. At least to pay respect to the memorial, the person who is responsible for the modern China, even though I have to walk under the heavy down pour with just a small made-of-China blue colour umbrella which hardly cover myself and the bag behind my back. Maybe it's because of my big body size, so I have to share shade with my camera bag on and off, of which at the end of the walk, both of us were partially wet.
I don't know why I still enjoy walking around this area even though I have come here many time for the last few days. I experience coming here during the hot summer day and night time. But the feeling is just different. Even today when it rain, I consider it as a blessing in disguise as there were some beauty in the scene which I do not know how to express even in simple words.
I must be crazy to say that I enjoy walking under the rain and watching the rain drops, but just take a look at those pictures, well I am not alone to enjoy the beautiful scenery. And there are still a lot of security personnel and police officers guarding the city square making the day so secured and peaceful and the city so amazingly beautiful.
Tourist keep on flocking in at no time and the rain never hinder them from taking more photos. I just love the reflection, the effect from the rain water.
I have to use the subway tunnel to cross the street. The traffic was heavy and jammed. Instead of getting to the Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, I got into the House of famous People. I realize only after I have bought the ticket and after touring almost the entire building inside. I realize when I see the interior which is more appropriate to be a some what a Parliament house and the place for the guest of honour or a very very important foreign minister. This is also the same place where our new Prime Minister of Malaysia Doto' Seri Tun Razak came just a few days earlier before my arrival.
Without wasting much time, I quickly proceed to the building across the street. I am running short of time as my check out time from the hotel is almost there. Upon arriving the front gate of The Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, I found that the notice says the place is closed on Monday. It was so unfortunate of me having to leave Beijing without getting to the inside of the Mausoleum. So, now I have extra time to take more photos from the exterior and the surrounding.
By almost one noon, I have already check out from the hotel where I am staying and ready to catch the next train to Tianjin. I took a taxi to Beijing South Station for the train. This train station itself looks like an airport. It is the magnetic levitation (maglev) train which travels from Beijing to Tianjin, which travels at a super speed of about 320km per hour. The journey itself will take us only 30 minutes whereby travelling by bus would take us about 90 minutes.
Come, lets join me taking the maglev train from Beijing to Tianjin..

Hi there,
Got your announcement, thanks.
I do envy you, you are very good at photography. I especially love rain shots; there's something unique about them. Have been waiting for sometime now to get my own as circumstances dictate otherwise...for now. I'm too new into photography and would appreciate your comments and thoughts to help me be better. Kindly visit my Painting Pictures blog.
Rain can't keep the traveler away from the sights. I would have gone ahead just like you with my plans for the day, rain or no rain.
What a watery/rainy post. I enjoyed the tour to rainy Beijing.
What a treat so many pictures to see. They look just as nice with rain.
Mr Linky is not working on the Watery wednesday blog but I am answering comments.
