Keeping The Environment Clean

Bicycles are common sight in China. They not only keep the environment clean, but also get to stay healthy. That's why you see a lot of elderly Chinese at their golden age and still looking strong around the city. I took the opportunity to take a few photos of the local people at work and on the move with their bicycles. This is one of the way I enjoy myself traveling and taking photos by the street side.

Great post. This is my favorite form of local transportation. If it was more common where I live, we might have more/better trails for it.

While they still ride bikes they will remain fir, when they all sit in cars and eat Big Macs they will be just like the rest of the well to do world - fat!

Bicycling is always good, although I will not take another cycling holiday again! I cycle to work every day though

I have been wanting to get a new bicycle for some time now. But here there is a law that you must wear a helmet! I notice no one wears a helmet in your photos. I'd be riding on back country roads so don't think I'd need a helmet but if I got caught there's a hefty fine!

I wish more people here in the US would use bikes, but most of our roads are not bike friendly and it's kind of dangerous. But it is a much more clean way to travel and you get exercise...Michelle

i remember visiting canton way back when and at that time almost everyone was riding bikes or using public transportation. i am so for both forms but unfortunately not all areas support either form and we must use cars to get around.

wonderful post.

I ride in Albany, NY USA, but I wish more people did; maybe drivers would be more considerate. And BTW, Leslie, I ride w a helmet and would be terrified to ride in city traffic without it.

Nice photos and good narrative. I haven't ridden for a while but have recently been tempted to give it another whirl.

Environmntally sound, yet the visors I suspect are to protect against the pollution? Ironic! Great post! Thanks for participating!

Bicycles are great. There're always bicycles parked at suburban the train stations in Singapore and residents ride them home. I think it's a great habit to cultivate...I still use a feeder bus to get to my block, lol

If this is the secret to staying young, I'm definitely going to have to dust off my bicycle and start riding! Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful B post.
I just bought a big basket for my bicycle and hope to ride a wee bit more. My area is not very bike friendly. It would be very nice if all streets had bike lanes.
Nice way to stay fit too.
I enjoyed all your photographs!
